Catalog description

Course objectives include exposure to art theory and experience with art techniques as appropriate in school environments. The integrated approach considers developmentally appropriate practices for enhancing all curricular areas in education. Application of Ohio Learning Standards for Fine Arts: perceiving/ knowing/creating, producing/performing and responding/reflecting will be applied in lesson planning. Current theories of art education examined, along with prominent programs for the development of creativity and the arts. Social-emotional aspects of learning through the arts will be correlated with prior knowledge of child development.
