Capstone Experience I

Catalog description

In this capstone course, students in the Data Science Honors Program will apply the breadth of their skills to complete a significant data science project. In a domain area specialization of their choice (as approved by the instructor), students will learn how to decide on an appropriate project topic, assess and synthesize the current knowledge base, identify research questions, gather requirements and design their project. After the formal project proposal document is approved, students move to implementation, documentation, and communication of the results of the project. Students will present their results to peers, faculty, and domain area stakeholders through both a written project report and oral presentation. Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Majors: Data Science Must be enrolled in one of the following Classifications: Senior Junior College of Arts & Sciences Interdisciplinary Studies
