Catalog description
Examines laws, statutes and policies as they apply to mass media. This course is designed to provide the student with an understanding of rationale and origins of laws and the policy making process, the challenges policy makers and court systems face forming, implementing and interpreting laws and statutes. Special emphasis will be paid to First Amendment, copyright, trademark and patent issues as they apply to the media and the workings of FCC and FTC. Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Classifications: Senior Junior College of Arts & Sciences Communication
