Catalog description

The lab course will expose students to the methods used by field ornithologists to study bird populations. These will include techniques for capturing and marking birds. A strong emphasis will be placed on learning to identify a variety of local species and studying the ecology of local habitats. We will also visit the Cincinnati museum collection to study the diversity of birds from around the world. Prerequisites: Undergraduate level BIOL160 Minimum grade of C- and Undergraduate level BIOL161 Minimum grade of C- and Undergraduate level BIOL162 Minimum grade of C- and Undergraduate level BIOL163 Minimum grade of C- Co-requisites: BIOL350 College of Arts & Sciences Biology
