Catalog description

Introduction to methods used to collect, identify and observe aquatic invertebrates. In this class, students will focus on the basic taxonomy, morphology and ecology of aquatic insects and other invertebrates. Students will participate in field trips to practice collection techniques and observe organisms in a variety of aquatic ecosystems. Students will also utilize this information to conduct ecological assessments within local watersheds. Prerequisites: Undergraduate level BIOL160 Minimum grade of C- and Undergraduate level BIOL161 Minimum grade of C- and Undergraduate level BIOL162 Minimum grade of C- and Undergraduate level BIOL163 Minimum grade of C- Co-requisites: BIOL340 College of Arts & Sciences Biology
