BAIS 667
Discrete Event Simulation
Xavier University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The objective of this course is to provide an introduction to simulation using ARENA software. In this course, students will learn to design, model, and analyze real systems using discrete event simulation techniques with simulation software. Students will discover the characteristics, uses and power of discrete event simulation modeling. The course begins by having the reader develop simple high-level models, and then progresses to advanced modeling and analysis. Statistical design and analysis of simulation experiments is integrated with the modeling chapters, reflecting the importance of mathematical modeling of these activities.
