Max Credit: (Max. 9) Overview of basic concepts and approaches to linguistics with examples from and emphasis on Spanish description. Basic concepts in semiotics, formal and non-formal linguistics, core areas in linguistics (phonetics & phonology, morphosyntax, semantics & pragmatics), as well as an overview of subfields of linguistics (psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, computational linguistics, etc. ).
