Max Credit: (Max. 3) A study of modern practice in civil cases under Rules of Civil Procedure and other sources of procedural law. Civil Procedure I and its continuation, Civil Procedure II, cover all aspects of jurisdiction and other issues bearing on what court(s) may hear a case; choice of state or federal law; pleading; joinder of claims and parties; class actions; discovery and other pre-trial procedures; summary judgment; non-jury and jury trials; appeals; and claim and issue preclusion.
