Max Credit: (Max. 12) Surveys important authors and texts from Britain, Europe, and the “new world” from 1500-1642. Covers major literary movements and genres, and contextualizes materials by discussing the historical, cultural, and political developments of the period. Examines how literature is produced and consumed in the sixteenth century. Specific focus varies by section.
