Application of hierarchical models to many different types of ecological observations for the purpose of estimating and explaining abundance and occupancy of animals in JAGS and R. Statistical exploration of many common survey designs (point counts, distance sampling, repeated observations of marked animals) that imperfectly record spatial and temporal variation in the abundance and distribution of wild populations.
