Catalog description

Introduction to a variety of frequency, severity, and aggregate models that are useful for short-term actuarial applications. The course will teach the steps involved in the statistical modeling process and how to apply these steps in an actuarial context. Tools will be introduced for the calibration and evaluation of the models. Topics covered include Severity, Frequency and Aggregate models, Coverage Modifications, Risk Measures and Parametric models. This course covers the SOA syllabus for exam STAM when combined with STT 4170. Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate level STT 4610 Minimum Grade of C Course Level: Undergraduate Schedule Type(s): Lecture Grade Mode: Standard
