The readiness of first responders and healthcare professionals to participate in any time of civilian disaster has declined over the past years. Civilian and government groups are working to reintroduce physicians, first responders, and other health care professionals as key response actors for disaster preparedness and response. This course was developed to give students the opportunity to become familiar with healthcare and homeland security issues and be introduced to various disaster related trainings.
