Catalog description

Students will volunteer with the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) at Miami Valley Hospital. HELP aims to enhance the safety and quality of older adult’s hospital stays while minimizing their chances of delirium. Students will undergo specialized training and work closely with the floor staff and the Elder Life Team. During the course, students will learn how to carry out activities designed to engage patients 65 years of age and older to keep them physically and mentally strong during their hospitalization.
