Catalog description

Introduction to the theoretical foundations of quantum theory. The Schrodinger and Heisenberg formulations of the harmonic oscillator, the hydrogen atom, the theory of quantized angular momentum, and scattering. Hilbert space, operators, commutation relations, and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle are included. Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate level PHY 4600 Minimum Grade of D Course Level: Undergraduate Schedule Type(s): Lecture Grade Mode: Standard
