Catalog description

Numerical linear algebra survey using high-level computing tools. Topics include linear equations, matrix factorizations, eigenvalue problems, least squares, applications of singular value decompositions, and iterative methods for large sparse matrices. Conditioning of problems, accuracy, and stability of algorithms are emphasized. Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate level MTH 2530 Minimum Grade of D and (Undergraduate level CS 1160 Minimum Grade of D or Undergraduate level CS 1180 Minimum Grade of D or Undergraduate level CEG 2170 Minimum Grade of D)
