Mathematical Modeling

Catalog description

Introduction to mathematics as used in the real world. Graphical methods, curve-fitting, dimensional analysis, scaling, stability, growth, vibrations, circuits, probability, optimality, approximation, Monte Carlo simulation. Students will be encouraged to make creative use of mathematical and problem-solving skills, and asked to develop an original model.
