Catalog description
The Introduction to Defense Acquisition focuses on providing a broad understanding and overview of the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition requirements and lifecycle processes. It provides an overview of Adaptive Acquisition Framework, Major Capability Acquisition Milestone phases and categories (ACAT), and a high-level End to End (E2E) understanding of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, & Execution (PPBE) process for lifecycle acquisitions within the DoD. It provides fundamental knowledge and practical application that can be applied immediately in the workplace and uniformly within the DoD acquisition workforce. This course is designed for individuals who have little or no experience in the DoD Acquisitions and who are interested in learning more about how the DoD operates and manages business functions. There are no prerequisites for this course and both business and non-business students can take it.
