A general introduction to Greece and Rome, tracing the historical development of these two cultures which formed the basis of western civilization. Focus on major social, economic, and political developments and the problems faced and solutions posited by each culture, as well as daily life, art and archaeology, and literature. Credit cannot be earned for both CLS 1500 and HST 1500.
