Quantitative biomedical optics, principles and applications of light propagation in biological tissues; optical imaging contrasts, light transport models including photon diffusion in living tissue; optical devices for light-based diagnostics for cancer detection, brain function monitoring; light-based therapies as alternative treatment for cancer and brain diseases. Application of concepts in lab experiments. Presentation of translational research of optical methods and clinical applications.
