Catalog description

Introduction to the diversity of fishes. This course will provide an overview of the major themes of fish evolution, anatomy, physiology, and ecology. This course will familiarize students with the most diverse group of vertebrates with special emphasis on fresh water taxa. Lecture topics are combined with field based collections and lab activities to facilitate conceptual learning with practical field experience in collection, dissection, and identification. Corequisite(s): BIO6750L
