Cat. IThis course integrates students’ background in ME in a one-term designproject that is usually taken from a local company. Students must organizethemselves and the project to successfully realize a product that meets customerneeds. Activities include problem definition, design analysis, mathematicalmodelling, CAD modelling, manufacturing, testing, liaison to vendors,customer relations, marketing, technical management, purchasing, reportwriting, and oral presentations.Recommended background: mechanisms (ME 3310, ME 3311), stressanalysis (ES 3502), design (ME 3320), thermo-fluids (ES 3001, ES 3003,ES 3004), materials (ES 2001), manufacturing (ME 1800).
