Cat. I This course provides a broad introduction to finance and financial logic, with emphasis on principles, applications and criteria used in decision-making. Core topics to be covered include interest rates, time value of money, bond valuation, yield curves, stock valuation, and risk and return analysis. The course is designed to help build students' financial literacy and provide a solid foundation for later courses in financial management, investments, and financial technology. Prior exposure to business accounting (equivalent to BUS 2060) is beneficial, as well as being comfortable with manipulating and computing financial formulas using mathematics at the level of Calculus I (MA 1020 or MA 1021). Students cannot receive credit for both BUS 2070 and FIN 2070
