Catalog description

The course is designed for non-native speakers of the Spanish language who are majoring in the health professions, such as physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, social workers, physical therapists, health educators, nutritionists, etc. The primary purposes are to build a foundation of basic, spoken Spanish and listening comprehension skills emphasizing medical terminology, and to explore Latinx culture in the U.S.. The class will allow students to appreciate how personal attitudes and beliefs affect the client/healthcare provider. (HA, HA-H)
