Catalog description

This course will focus on working with clients who have been exposed to significant trauma and/or loss. Trauma theory, impact of trauma and loss, and assessment of trauma will be explored. Skills will be developed to directly treat children and adults with trauma to assist with the management of their symptoms and increasing coping skills to prepare for future challenges. PREREQ: TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COURSE, THE STUDENT MUST BE ENROLLED IN THE MASTERS IN SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM AND MUST HAVE COMPLETED SOCWORK 712 (SOCIAL WORK PSYCHOPATHOLOGY)
