An introduction to the knowledge and skills necessary for working with children and adolescents, including: developmental, cultural, and family issues affecting children and adolescents; child welfare policy; how to interview and assess the needs of children and adolescents; developmental, behavioral, and emotional disorders including current treatment approaches; and practice settings (i.e., child welfare agencies, schools, etc.). PREREQ: SOCWORK 371 OR INSTRUCTOR CONSENT
