Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to pedagogical approaches, instructional and assessment strategies, and materials for teaching in the K-12 general music classroom. Topics include musical growth, skill and conceptual development, and synthesis of materials and methods into curricular practice through investigation of textbook series, supplementary materials, and technology resources. PREREQ: ADMISSION TO PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND B OR BETTER IN MUSC 177 OR BM MUSIC EDUCATION CHORAL EMPHASIS AND PASS PIANO PROFICIENCY
