Catalog description

This course provides hands-on experience with classroom and modern band instruments commonly used in K–12 general music settings. Students will develop foundational performance and teaching skills on recorder, ukulele, Orff instruments, and classroom percussion, as well as gain introductory experience on guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and contemporary vocals. The course explores culturally responsive teaching, improvisation, composition, and connectionsantional and state music standards to prepare future educators for diverse and inclusive classroom environments.
