Catalog description

This lab course will introduce the concepts and principles of sonographic imaging with emphasis on the application of instrumentation, basic scanning techniques, and identification of cross-sectional anatomy in the appropriate scan planes. Students will scan abdominal structures. Students receive clinical instruction, guidance, and supervision as they begin gaining hands-on experience, acquire, clinical competencies, and learn to produce sonographic images. PREREQ: ACCEPTED INTO MEDICAL SCIENCES - DIAGNOSTIC SONOGRAPHY EMPHASIS
