Catalog description

This course is designed to give students experience and to improve their skill in reading, writing, and understanding mathematics by requiring them to research one or more mathematical topics and then write a report about their activities and discoveries. The focus is on the learning and communication of mathematics: how to read with understanding, write with clarity and precision, and in the process discover how writing can aid in understanding. PREREQ: JUNIOR/SENIOR STATUS OR CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR
