This course is a history of women in ancient, medieval and early modern European history, roughly the period from 4000 BCD to around 1750 CE. It focuses on the role, status and agency of women in different premodern European contexts, with particular focus on politics, culture and religion. PREREQ: SOPHOMORE STANDING OR CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR
