Catalog description
Students learn basics of French to English translation by studying the history of translation as well as linguistic, cultural, professional, and ethical aspects of translation. They will then apply these concepts to translate a variety of genres, from technical, medical, and legal texts to literary and audiovisual texts. Class is taught in French and English. PREREQ: FRENCH 252 OR PLACEMENT
