Catalog description

This course explores issues of poverty, violence, and disaffection in rural American communities as depicted though literary works spanning the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. It also examines the placement of rural communities within current social, cultural, and literary contexts. Topics will change. (SBS, SBS-E) PREREQ: ENGLISH 100 OR ENGLISH 101 OR ENGLISH 105
