This course introduces students to literary, philosophical, political, and religious works that have been instrumental to the evolution of the history of ideas and to the cultural development of civilizations across time and place. Its primary focus is on the aesthetic and intellectual achievements of foundational texts from antiquity to the present day. (HA, HA-H) PREREQ: ENGLISH 100 OR ENGLISH 101 OR ENGLISH 105
