WORKING WITH INFANTS, TODDLERS, AND FAMILIES

Catalog description

This class provides a foundation for examining the care of infants and toddlers within family and group care settings. Students learn about state licensing rules and national early childhood standards, curriculum as a responsive approach to relationship-based care and education, how to identify high-quality programs, and best practices related to the care of infants and toddlers. Mental health issues related to infants in toddlers are examined in relation to those who provide care to this population. As part of this course, students will complete observations in infant/toddler classrooms. PREREQ: ADMISSION TO PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND (EARLY CHILDHOOD/EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION MAJOR)
