ECONOMICS FOR TEACHERS

Catalog description

This course introduces microeconomic analysis and its application. Students examine how consumers and firms (including cooperative business organizations) make decisions when facing scarce resources, as well as how those decisions affect market outcomes, such as prices and output. Students utilize models to understand supply and demand, theories of individual behavior and the firm, competition and monopoly and the distribution of income in society. Satisfies the state teacher certification requirements of instruction in cooperatives. (SBS and SBS-S) PREREQ: MINIMUM SOPHOMORE STANDING UNREQ: A STUDENT MAY EARN CREDIT FOR ONLY ONE OF ECON 201 OR ECON 213
