Catalog description
This is a professional course in counseling designed for individuals seeking advanced training in assessment and treatment of abusive family systems. This course will elaborate on child abuse, neglect, and physical and sexual abuse and its impact on the individual and the family. The course will examine family dynamics which contribute to the development of an abusive system and those that provide protection against abuse and/or enhance the effective processing of trauma PREREQ: COUNSED 718 AND COUNSED 722 AND ADMISSION TO MS COUNSELING PROGRAM OR CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR
