CURRENT ISSUES IN COUNSELING: LGBTQIA+

Catalog description

In this course, students will explore topics related to counseling clients who identify as being part of the LGBTQIA+ population. The course will increase student understanding of gender and affectional orientation, developmental issues for LGBTQIA+ people, emerging issues, and affirmative counseling considerations and strategies when working with LGBTQIA+ clients. This course will also increase student understanding on providing affirmative counseling with various populations within the LGBTQIA+ community.
