COMMUNICATION THEORIES

Catalog description

We will explore how communication theories interpret or predict phenomena in the world around us. First, we will learn vocabulary that helps us critically analyze and compare theories. We will then survey multiple theories of communication in a variety of communicative contexts. By the end of this course, students will be well-practiced at evaluating theories and will have a sense of the communication theories best-suited for answering questions about communication phenomena.
