Catalog description

The course discusses the principles of the four-step planning process commonly used by public relations professionals and presents students a template for preparing a public relations plan document. Students learn the importance of guiding an organization's communication with a thoroughly developed plan that is supported by research into the organization and its situation. Students learn how to use tactical decision-making to guide the preparation of communication tools. Students work in teams to develop an effective public relations campaign for an area nonprofit organization. PREREQ: COMM 202 AND COMM 203 AND COMM 204 AND COMM 275 AND COMM 302
