Catalog description

This course will review and discuss various examples of political messages. To better inform discussions, students will also survey rhetorical theory, political and mass communication theory and public relations theory. Much attention will be geared toward political campaigns, but students will also examine the rhetoric of governance. Students will read, speak and write about Presidential, Congressional, and gubernatorial levels of political communication. PREREQ: COOM 110, ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: JOURNLSM 220 OR JOURNLSM 227 OR COMM 131 OR COMM 202 OR COMM 327 OR, JUNIOR STANDING AND ANY COURSE IS POLITICAL SCIENCE OR SOCIOOLGY
