Catalog description
This course provides an overview of current approaches to augmentative and alternative communication. Alternative methods of communication other than speech and methods for augmenting residual speech skills are discussed. The course focuses on the development of basic skills for supporting individuals using alternative and augmentative communication systems. PREREQ: ADMISSION TO UPPER DIVISION COMDIS COURSES AND ( COMDIS 380 OR COMDIS 355 ), OR CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR
