Catalog description
Throughout this course, we will examine the intersections of culture and language and learn about processes of language acquisition. This is a field-based methods course, and so we will meet at a local school and work with younger students. Through this collaboration, we will develop an understanding of issues confronting emergent bilingual (EB)/English learner (EL) students, and examine various program models for supporting and expanding students' linguistic repertoires. We will learn methods for integrating the teaching of language and academic content. PREREQ: CIGENRL 310 AND CIGENRL 320 AND CIGENRL 350
