Catalog description

Students gradually take up responsibilities for all teaching duties associated with their placement, including the planning of lessons, curriculum building, grading, co-teaching, and working with special education and administrative personnel in the district, while establishing and maintaining positive relationships with school families, parents and the community. The student teacher engages in continuous self-evaluation and is assisted in the process by frequent informal conferences with the mentor teacher. Periodic formal evaluation sessions where the student teacher and the cooperating teacher utilize university-provided observation forms are planned. PREREQ: CIFLD 770 AND INSTRUCTOR CONSENT
