Catalog description

Being involved in elementary and middle level classrooms enables students to apply theoretical understandings regarding positive discipline approaches for students and the adaptation of both curriculum and the environment to meet individual needs and abilities. In collaboration with the Office of Clinical Experience, students will be placed in a clinical experience at the elementary level and a clinical experience at the middle level. Reading instruction will be a focus within the pre-student teaching experiences for candidates seeking initial licensure. It is expected that reflective thinking will assist the student in accommodating her/his beliefs and knowledge to classroom realities. PREREQ: MUST BE ADMITTED TO ELEMENTARY MIDDLE EDUCATION MSE COREQ: CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT IN ELEMMID 715
