Catalog description

The importance of quantum mechanics to chemical systems is presented. Topics include quantization of rotational and vibrational motion, quantum mechanical description of electrons and atomic structure, quantum mechanical description of covalent bonding and how that affects understanding of chemical reactivity. Three hours of lecture weekly. PREREQ: CHEM 352 COREQ: PRIOR COMPLETION OR CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT IN MATH 254 AND ( PHYSCS 141 OR PHYSCS 181 )
