Catalog description

Study of the function of cells and tissues of the vertebrate immune system. Topics include biology of critical molecules and cells, principles of innate, acquired, and adoptive immunity, immunogenetics, allergy, inflammation,autoimmunity,vaccines, and transplantation. The lab provides experience with modern serological and immunological laboratory techniques and instrumentation. Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory per week. PREREQ: BIOLOGY 251 AND BIOLOGY 253 WITH A GRADE OF C OR BETTER OR EQUIVALENTS
