Catalog description
The study of how nucleic acids and proteins interact to control the cell. Topics include DNA replication, chromosome structure, transcription, translation, control of gene expression, gene evolution and genomics. Experimental approaches to studying molecular biology are emphasized. Three hours of lecture per week. PREREQ: BIOLOGY 251 AND BIOLOGY 253 WITH A GRADE OF C OR BETTER; COREQ: CHEM 251
