This is a course that examines the roles of bacteria and other microorganisms in the environment. Topics will include an introduction to the main groups of microorganisms and their physiology, soil microbiology, cycles of elements, aquatic microbiology, sewage treatment, bioremediation, and biotechnology. PREREQ: BIO 101 OR BIO 191 OR BIO 121
