Catalog description

Involves early mathematical content and concepts that are relevant to young children from birth to age eight. An emphasis is placed on understanding and demonstrating mathematical content and computation knowledge. There is a focus on effective research-based strategies to promote mathematical development and learning in all young children. Students will explore math concepts and curriculum at all early childhood developmental levels. An emphasis is placed on hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning, as well as developing skills through play. A minimum grade of C in this course is required for all education majors.
