Catalog description
This is an experiential studio-based art therapy course for those who intend to work in the healing, teaching, and art therapy professions to identify and explore personal and professional issues related to using the expressive arts in healing. It offers an opportunity for students to personally experience the expressive arts therapy process in depth through exploration of multiple arts media and techniques applicable to work with individuals and groups. Students will discover and define self through the creative process and explore the expressive arts as an essential tool for social change, a means of personal transformation, and a means of artistic liberation which all contribute to positive change in self and others.
